The Department of Industrial Engineering has been dedicated for more than 50 years to scientific research activities and the education of graduates in the Industrial Engineering study program. The role of industrial engineers in practice is to propose, design, plan, manage, organize, control, and improve company processes and systems. Graduates will find employment in companies in positions such as industrial engineer, systems engineer, quality engineer, engineer of productivity, production systems designer, production engineer, production technical preparation worker, head of production planning and management, head of logistics department, head of the maintenance department, department worker human resources, etc.

The current orientation of the department in the field of science, research and education reflects the requirements of Industry 4.0 / Industry 5.0. The key research topics of the department are focused on the field of Digital Factory, 3D designing of production and logistics systems, applications of virtual and augmented reality technologies, computer simulation, ergonomics and humanization of work, software support for business planning, management and decision-making, development of intelligent and reconfigurable production systems, automation and artificial intelligence, as well as other areas of advanced industrial engineering, supporting the increase of productivity and competitiveness of companies.
